自2005年起，我國行政院國家科學委員會為增進新世代海外台裔學生對台灣的瞭解、協助國內科技產業及研究機構儲備海外人才，並促進海內外青年的交流合作，特設置「科技台灣探索（候鳥計畫）」，專案安排候鳥學員於暑期間在台灣研習之機會。

預訂邀請200~250名傑出海內外台裔青年訪台參加為期八週之研習活動，包括第一週為期五天(6月24日至28日)的團體活動及其後七週(6月29日至8月15日)之實習活動，提供實習之單位包括臺灣的政府機關、學術研究機構及民營企業單位等。

【申請資格】

• 年齡須為 18~30歲 (1979年8月15(含)日~1991年6月24(含)日出生者)
• 須為台裔
• 須未曾於台灣接受國民小學後之正式教育
• 須至少已於國外完成相當於大學二年級以上之課程（或預計可於6/24/2009前完成）
• 需未曾於台灣任職全職工作（不含實習）
• 須能以英語、國語或台語其中一種語言溝通
• 不限制具學生資格，但若非學生且具中華民國國籍者，可能有兵役問題。
• 曾參與候鳥計畫者亦得再次報名，但實習單位將以未參與過之學員為優先考量。

【實習期間】

• 全程：98年6月24日~8月15日
• 團體活動：98年6月24日~6月28日
• 實習活動：98年6月29日~8月15日
• 實習期間如經實習單位及國科會同意，實習生得以提前開始或延長，惟該段提前或延長之期間國科會將不發放生活補助金，學員須自理各項開銷及住宿。

【實習名額】

• 全體學員：200~250名。

【實習種類】

• 個人實習(僅提供國外生)：將於台灣之政府機關、學術研究機構及民營企業實習。
• 專案議題：由四至十二人組成，並於實習結束時繳交一份專案議題研究報告。
• 學員得由各實習機會之工作內容，選填三個志願。

【實習費用】

• 實習生活補助金：國科會將發給每位每日新台幣六百元之補助金。
• 全程實習者合計新台幣三萬元整，共計50天。
• 國外實習生交通補助費：國科會發給每人新台幣一萬元之交通補助費。
• 實習期間之食宿費用由學員自理，6月24日~28日團體活動食宿由專案計畫負責。

【住宿】

• 實習期間之住宿(6月28日~8月15日)，學員得自行安排，或由實習單位提供住宿，或由候鳥計畫專案辦公室協助安排實習地點之團體住宿（多為大學宿舍），但學員應自付住宿費用及其他依規定應繳交之費用。
• 第一週團體活動、週末活動、實習成果發表會及頒獎晚會(實習地點為台北地區以外之學員)之住宿，由專案計畫負責安排。

• 時間：98年1月21日至98年2月9日止。
